Have you ever found an extra roll of paper towel jammed in the back of a cabinet? You’ll seriously save money if you keep all of your bulk supplies in the same area. I have a separate shelving unit for bulk food items, but if you want, you could have those here too. Next time you wonder if you need extra tissues, just go downstairs and check the bulk section!
We store most all of our home improvement items on these shelves in our basement. I’ve encountered clients who at one complained about not knowing where the flashlight was when they needed it, or where the calk was for the tub. Those random supplies that you need, but often don’t know where to put them where you can find them. Two tips: ‘LIKE with LIKE’ and CONTAINERIZE. Even if you have room to spare in each bin, only keep the same type of item in each one. You’ll know right where it is next time you need it!! You probably wonder why I have a MISC bin, then, right? :) I keep small, random parts in here that my husband isn’t quite sure if he needs or not, so we’ll keep them for a year or so, then, if we haven’t used them, we’ll pitch ‘em!
-Makes use of vertical wall space in garage
-Easy to lift bike up and take down
-Great way to store all those random items in your car that end up on the floor and seats!
