I bought these little 3×3 plastic containers at The Container Store to hold my different office supplies. You can use these for your kitchen junk drawer, as well! The key is that every little thing that you have needs a home!!! Dump out everything in your drawer, sort it out, pitch what you don’t use, need, or love, and then contain what’s left in containers similar to this.
The best way I’ve found to store my business receipts is by attaching this purple plastic folder onto the side of desk. Right when I walk in my office I see this folder, so it’s super easy to throw the business receipts in it. At the end of the week, I enter all of them in Quicken and then put them in my Freedom Filer (what’s a Freedom Filer? Check it out! http://www.freedomfiler.com/. Let me know if you’re interested and I can get you 15% off)!
Since I work from home, I thought it would be fun to set up a home office coffee station. I know I could walk into the kitchen and get my coffee there, but during the day, if I’m working on something at my computer, it’s so much easier to get a cup of coffee right there. Plus, it’s just fun to have! All of my K-cups are in the white labeled IKEA container, while a few are contained on a Command holder against the shelf wall. Makes use of vertical space!
If you fear losing or forgetting an important piece of paper by putting it in a drawer, these trays are perfect for you! This is what I did in my office and it works great. I lined them up side by side so I can easily label each tray and see what’s in it. I have one for IN, OUT, and ONGOING PROJECTS. Quick tip, if you have the space, line them side by side so you can label the back of the tray.
-I’m not kidding, I’ve tried tons of different filing systems, but this is BY FAR the best, EASIEST, and actually kind of fun filing systems!
-Tells you when it’s time to shred archived files! You don’t have to wait until you have mounds and mounds of paper to shred!

-Really, no one should have “junk drawers.” I’m serious!! If you must, line your drawer up from front to back and left to right with these drawer containers. Each container can only have 1 specific type of item. I.e rubberbands, pens, tape, chapstick, and so on. By leaving no space for empty space you will be less likely to throw stuff in without thinking about it. Every little thing will have a home!
-You can use this for SO many different things besides just shoes! I have mine over my bathroom door to store my toiletries.
-Labeling each pocket makes it so SIMPLE to find what you’re looking for, plus it will be obvious when you’ve run out of a certain item.
